Discovering Vitruvius in Fano: Guided tours of the Basilica and archaeological heritage

From March 28, 2026, it will be possible to take part in guided tours of the Basilica of Vitruvius and the archaeological heritage of Fanum Fortunae , a special opportunity to experience the city in an even more authentic way and discover up close places of great charm and historical importance.

Tours begin in the Sala Morganti on Via Montevecchio and offer insights into some of the most significant sites of Roman Fano and its archaeological heritage. The tour naturally centers on the Basilica of Vitruvius in Piazza A. Costa , one of the sites that has recently attracted great interest and curiosity.
Two different routes are planned.
The first round , costing 10 euros , lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and includes:
- Malatesta Palace Museum – Morganti Hall and Archaeological Section
- Basilica of Vitruvius, Piazza A. Costa
- Archaeological area of Sant'Agostino
- Montanari Media Library Archaeological Area
- Museum of the Via Flaminia
The second round , costing 5 euros , lasts approximately 1 hour and includes:
- Malatesta Palace Museum – Morganti Room
- Basilica of Vitruvius, Piazza A. Costa
- Archaeological area of Sant'Agostino
Visiting hours are as follows:
Saturday
- 1st round: 3:30 pm
- 2nd round: 4:30 pm
Sundays and holidays
- 1st round: 10:00
- 2nd round: 11:00
- 1st afternoon shift: 3:30 pm
- 2nd afternoon shift: 4:30 pm
Each shift has a maximum of 30 participants .
Tickets can be purchased at the box office , on the Palazzo Malatestiano Museum website , or on the liveticket.it platform, subject to availability.
