May 18 museums open
OPENING OF MUSEUMS, RESTAURANTS AND BEACHES
From 18 May 2020 we will finally be able to return to visit the museums starting from that of Fano , the Archaeological Museum and the Pinacoteca of the Palazzo Malatestiano .
But Fano, besides being a city rich in works of art and culture , is reflected in the sea .
This is an opportunity to organize a weekend in this magnificent region , the Marche region , even for the Marches who want to take a little trip out of town .
I don't know if you are aware but Lonley Planet magazine has included the Marche in the ranking of the 10 most beautiful places to visit in 2020.
I consider it a multifaceted region, because it is suitable for all types of needs. If you love culture, you will find numerous cities, castles and fortresses full of history and art to visit. Adventurous and nature-loving spirits will find landscapes and panoramas to be explored on foot and photographed.
There is everything you are looking for. Starting from the city of Urbino , a beautiful Renaissance town about 30 km from Fano, which this year celebrates an important anniversary: the 500 years since the death of its most famous citizen, Raffaello Sanzio .
But Urbino is just one of the many cities of art that can be found in the Marches that preserve an immense cultural heritage that can be discovered and admired. Starting from the south: Ascoli Piceno , the city of Travertine with its wonderful square , one of the most beautiful in Italy . Fermo and the Roman cisterns , Macerata the city of opera and the Sferisterio , Ancona the Doric city, Pesaro city of music , the famous ROF and its pretty old town .
But the Marches are not only art, culture and history , they are also nature and adventure . Lots of itineraries to follow. One of the most spectacular is certainly the Gola del Furlo , a gorge that follows what was the original route of the Via Flaminia , next to the Candigliano river. Ideal area for trekking and picnics .
If you love the sea and seascapes , then we recommend a ride on the Conero Riviera , full of fantastic views and hidden coves.
A wonderful coastline and a surprising green and blue frame that blend and give fabulous views.
Obviously these are just some weekend ideas, but the Marches offer much more and they will surely make you want to spend much more than a weekend.
